Frequently Asked Questions.

HER does not require guests to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or to test via PCR or rapid antigen prior to joining a trip. Please note that some regions, such as tribal lands, have requirements and/or documents needed for entry. Please be sure to carefully review your itinerary prior to the start of the trip.

If someone experiences symptoms on trip, they are to immediately inform the HER Trip Leader. The Trip Leader will require the symptomatic person to isolate from the group and help facilitate a COVID-19 test. If the test is negative, no further action will be taken.

If a member of the group tests positive, we will follow CDC guidelines and ask that person to follow CDC isolation protocol and exit the trip. If that person is sharing a room, we will also ask that travel partner to do the same. The Trip Leader will help facilitate this exit. HER will not offer reimbursement to those who do not meeting the health and safety requirements.

Following CDC guidance, wearing masks is recommended but not required in HER shuttles or within the buildings where we are housed. Masks are optional for all other HER activities. Please carry a mask with you on our travels, as local regulations or vendors may require them in certain settings. In those cases, local requirements will supersede HER policy.

While no one likes to think about the what-ifs, it is important to understand that things can and do go wrong on occasion. Consider protecting your trip with Travel Insurance coverage for trip cancellation, trip interruption and personal property. These coverages are not included in the cost of your trip and must be purchased separately. Due to the many pre-paid commitments with lodging and adventure partners, we must adhere strictly to our cancellation policy. All deposits and final payments are non refundable.

If you cancel a trip:
All trips have a minimum non-refundable deposit of $1000 USD per person to book. Cancellations may be made in writing and acknowledged via email to [email protected]


Cancellation charges:
• 30 Days or more before departure: Full credit towards another tour, or, refund minus your $1000 deposit.
• 29 Days or Less before departure: No credit, No refund
• Cancellations Made at or During Trip: No credit, No refund
No Shows: No credit, No refund

If we cancel a trip:

HER trips all require a minimum of 4 guests to run unless otherwise noted, and thus, may not be confirmed until 30 days before the tour is set to begin.
HER reserves the right to cancel any adventure for any reason, but will not cancel less than 30 days before departure except for force majeure and/or for reasons outside of our control such as acts of god including natural disasters such as hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes or any acts of terrorism which may arise in the said country that would make the adventure unsafe.
In certain situations, we may also cancel a trip if we do not meet the minimum amount of guests required to run the tour. If this should happen, we will refund any monies paid, minus your deposit, or we will allow all money paid to go as credit towards an alternate HER adventure of your choosing for no additional cost.

HER is not responsible for any direct, incidental, consequential damages, expenses or losses that the Client may have incurred as a result of the booking including, but not limited to, visas, vaccinations, non-refundable flights or rail, non-refundable car parking or other fees, loss of earnings, or loss of enjoyment and opportunity.
If the alternative adventure chosen is of a lower value than that originally booked, then the Client is entitled to a refund of the price difference.
If the guest is offered a refund but requests an alternative tour of a higher value than that originally booked, then the Client must pay the difference in price.
Where a significant element of the adventure cannot be provided, HER will make suitable alternate arrangements for the continuation of the adventure.

In the rare instance you are asked to leave a tour, no refund or credit will be given. HER reserves the right to ask any guest to exit the trip due to acts of violence, unacceptable or disruptive behavior, or for any reason without justification.

There will be no discounts or refunds for missed or unused services. If a guest leaves an adventure for any reason -voluntarily or involuntarily- no refunds will be issued.

 

If you are eligible for a refund due to cancellation, the balance, less fees and non-refundable payments, will be forward to you. Please note that HER will not refund any payments until we have received refund monies from applicable suppliers. In some instances this can take weeks.
