New Mexico- Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness and Chaco Canyon

Category:

In partnership with Navajo Tours USA we will set out to explore the roughly 60 square miles of remote badlands which makes up the Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness. See for yourself why this tour was ranked one of National Geographic Traveler must-visit adventure destinations in 2019! Offering some of the most unusual rock formations on the planet you’ll see the hoodoos, desert spires, natural arches, and fossils unique to this area. From the Alien Egg Hatchery or Egg Factory and Hoodoo City to Manta Ray Wing and King of Wings, the unique nature of these formations is truly otherworldly. The Bisti was once a coastal swamp of an inland sea; and was home to many large trees, reptiles, dinosaurs, and primitive mammals. What visitors see today is the preserved record of this pre-historic swamp that is now a true desert wilderness. Learn all about the Bisti Beast, a tyrannosaur who lived about 74 million years ago, and who’s skull was found in here! With over 45,000 acres to explore, Bisti is a must see for every venturesome hiker and explorer.
Our adventure will continue on to the center of an Ancient World- Chaco Canyon. Today the massive buildings of the Ancestral Puebloan people still testify to the organizational and engineering abilities not seen anywhere else in the American Southwest. Here we will have an opportunity to explore the canyon that was central to thousands of people between 850 and 1250 CE.
